Week 1

Hi! We have finally started Certificate 3 in Business studies at TAFE.
This blog is done as part of our Communicate Electronically class. I must admit that I don't really know what I'm doing in regards to blogs but I'm here to learn so watch out world!!!

This first week we got to know each other with a guessing game. We each had to write three things about ourselves (two truths and one lie), stand up and tell the class, who had to guess which one was the lie.

We started a gmail account which will be used to show our growing electronic skills to each other and the lecturer. We reviewed the different parts of the email account, like the difference between the To, CC and BCC areas.

We watched a video on Communicating Electronically and the risks associated with the different styles available. These were Social Media, Email, Instant Messaging and Texting, cyber bullying and general internet use. It looked at what is proper etiquette in the work place compared with personal use.
We learned that it is best to use Mozilla Firefox rather than other browsers like Explorer because things like google and ilearn work better with this framework.

We wrote a letter to Donna explaining our plans and how we see this course helping us. We had to save it as a PDF, email it to Donna and then upload it on ilearn.

We did the task from ilearn called email etiquette which focuses on what are the right and wrong things to do when using email. I uploaded my document on ilearn.

That was pretty much our first class!
Thanks
Regards
Susannah!
